Are you passionate about making a difference in children's lives?
Five Education is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as a SEND Support Assistant. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across a range of age groups in school settings. You would need to be able to support children with a range of special educational needs, including learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), sensory, speech and language impairments and behavioural difficulties. The role involves helping the children to meet their individual learning targets and stay "on task" throughout the school day. You do not need knowledge of the curriculum, but you will need to be an excellent motivator.
You do not need prior experience, as we provide on-the-job training and ongoing tailored support. Whether you're new to education or looking to apply your transferable skills from another sector, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
What We Offer:
- A supportive team and a dedicated consultant to guide you
- A school placement where you'll feel valued and comfortable
- Ongoing SEND training and development throughout the year
- Opportunities to secure a permanent role in a school
- Access to free, high-quality CPD training provided by Five Education
What You'll Need:
- Resilience and a calm, supportive manner
- A high level of initiative and patience
- A genuine interest in working with children with additional needs
- Willingness to learn and grow in a school environment
Experience is not essential, but those with backgrounds in the following areas are encouraged to apply:
- Teaching Assistant roles
- Healthcare or social care
- Security or public services
- Youth work or support work with vulnerable individuals
Your daily rate of pay would be £89.66* but with a potential to earn more based on your level of experience.
*Including holiday pay
Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employers NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.
DBS: If you do not have a non-voluntary enhanced DBS on the update service, we will need to process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work, providing you have put the new DBS on the update service.
Vetting: Five Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all of the staff we employ to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including reference checks, TRA checks and will need to have a DBS; there will also be a face-to-face interview.
We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates as they are currently under-represented at this level.
