Working in a fast-paced production environment you will be responsible for the supply of components to our production assembly lines and ensuring that the right product at the right specification is available.
This is a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and output of our business and will require someone who has strong organisational and communication skills with other departments (Production / Sales / Stores & Planning).
You must be able to work well under pressure and have a strong numerical background.
Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate inventory levels by conducting regular stock counts as well as working with purchasing and planning to rectify any discrepancies.
* Implement and maintain efficient inventory control procedures, including stock rotation, FIFO
* Kit components according to the production schedule and ensuring assembly machines always have the correct components at the correct time.
* Remove surplus stock from the production floor, investigate and detail why it remains.
* Update and maintain stock control sheets, ensuring production managers have accurate and up to date information.
* Conduct end of month stock take. Generate monthly reports on component movement, usage and value.
* Organise and conduct the operation of shift workers, 24/7 operation kitting is required continuously.
* Ensure proper housekeeping and a tidy work environment. 5S focus.
* Develop daily procedures to maximise daily efficiency.
Skills Required
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve inventory related problems.
* Proficient IT skills including Microsoft packages (Excel) and in using inventory management systems (123 insight).
* Attention to detail with both counts and component identification.
* Strong communication skills, co-ordination needed various departments.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Experience working in a high-speed manufacturing environment an advantage.
