Your new company Our client is currently looking for 2 X Health & Safety Advisors to work on a water treatment project based in Derby. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting best practices within the Severn Trent framework. Your new role As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting best practices within the Severn Trent framework. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting Regional Management Teams: Provide guidance and support to regional management teams to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation. Assist in the implementation of HSE guidance and best practices across the region. Audits and Inspections: Conduct systematic audits and inspections of construction sites, mobile workplaces (e.g., vehicles), offices, and other work areas. Verify compliance with legislative requirements and adherence to health and safety management systems. Problem Resolution: Monitor and facilitate the resolution of health and safety issues within the region. Accident Investigation: Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and learning points. Risk Assessments and Control Measures: Assist regional management teams and employees in preparing risk assessments. Identify suitable control measures as needed. Safety Documentation: Contribute to the development and maintenance of safety-related documentation, including manuals, procedures, guidance notes, and forms. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, HSE Inspectors, and external assessors. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you should have: Extensive experience in health and safety practices, preferably with at least one year in the Water Treatment or Construction industry. Knowledge of current and pending HSE Directives for health and safety. Familiarity with current statutory health and safety laws in the UK. Understanding of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM). Knowledge of good practices in construction, including HSE guidance and approved codes of practice. Experience with ISO 45001 (or similar management systems). A formal qualification in Occupational Safety and Health (e.g., NEBOSH Construction Certificate). A CSCS card or affiliation with the SHEA Water scheme.
