Role Specific
Responsible for the development and delivery of accredited and non-accredited catering courses at pre-entry, entry, and levels 1 & 2.
* Conduct hands-on culinary instruction of students using the existing curriculum
* Develop lesson plans based on the existing curriculum
* Administer written and practical tests
* Document and report each student's ability to comprehend, perform, and retain practical techniques
* Work one-on-one with students to ensure comprehension of lessons and information
* Recruit new and maintain existing relationships with chefs for weekly volunteer opportunities
* Oversee the various ordering, set-up, and cleanup needed for lessons and guest chef presentations
Experience/Qualifications
* Proven experience of teaching and assessing in a college/vocational environment with a recognised teaching qualification e.g., PGCE, DTLLS, or Cert Ed Post 16, or a commitment to work towards
* Hold relevant catering qualifications. Hold a food hygiene certificate at level 2.
* Hold appropriate verification and assessor qualifications up to level 3
* Good working knowledge of catering-related qualifications, awarding body procedures, and the ability to match resources to learner needs
* Excellent organisational, computer, and written skills
* Good assessment and diagnostic skills
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
* Willing to undergo training as part of an agreed performance review system
* Positive attitude to equality and diversity, with the ability to demonstrate a commitment to all learners
