About Us:
Located in the serene surroundings of 8 acres of woodland, an area of outstanding natural beauty just outside Bodmin, Cornwall, The Home is a newly created service offering a safe haven for disabled children. Our mission is to provide time-limited specialist residential care and outreach, aiding children in recovering from traumatic experiences and crisis situations.
The Role:
The Disabled Children and Therapy Service is a specialised social care agency catering to disabled children and young people with acute and complex needs. Our innovative children's home, offers time-limited specialist residential care to aid disabled children in recovering from trauma and crises in a safe environment. We prioritise trauma-informed, low arousal support models to facilitate transformative experiences and aim for successful transitions to permanent homes.
Our community outreach program complements residential care, promoting family-based care whenever possible to ensure a fulfilling childhood for the children we serve.
As the Registered Manager, you'll oversee the operational and quality standards of the home, registering with Ofsted and maintaining compliance with regulations. Leadership, staff management, and ensuring access to diverse activities are key responsibilities.
We seek candidates educated to NVQ level 5 with extensive management experience and a track record of success in residential care for disabled children. Willingness to pursue further academic studies and training is expected to enhance service understanding and responsiveness to complex needs.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
We're seeking a leader with proven skills in communication, leadership, and supporting children with complex needs, including challenging behaviors and trauma. You should be adept at collaborating with various agencies and have at least three years of experience managing Children's Homes under Ofsted registration. Innovation, creativity, and a calm, independent mindset are essential.
