New Directions Education are recruiting two Part-Time Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Autism in a lovely Year 3/4 class at a Primary School in Ellesmere Port.
These roles are mornings only, ideal for those seeking part-time hours while making a meaningful impact supporting learning and communication.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Supporting pupils with Autism to access learning in a small-group or 1:1 setting
2. Assisting with daily routines and transitions
3. Encouraging positive communication and interaction
4. Implementing strategies to help with focus and emotional regulation
5. Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team
You’ll Need To Have:
6. Experience supporting children with Autism or additional needs
7. A calm, nurturing, and patient approach
8. Ability to work part-time (AMs only, Monday–Friday)
9. Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification (or equivalent experience)

Job Specification
Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

14. NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant

We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
28. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
29. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
30. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
31. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
32. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
