JOB PURPOSE
Business partner providing accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis. Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations and act as a support for key departmental roles. Inventory control and business KPI variance analysis. Ensure compliance in line with company policy and integrity of financial data.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Financial Controller with the following:
* Preparing periodic financial statements, including departmental analysis, forecasts, budgets, cash analysis, variance analysis and commentaries
* Analysing financial performance and contributing to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts
* Customer and production profitability reporting
* Inventory reconciliations, raw materials, finished goods & WIP
* Standard cost reviews
* Intercompany reconciliations
* Working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions. This will include preparation work on acquisition requests (Capex)
* Ensuring spending is kept in line with the budget (monitoring)
* Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
* Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed
* Ensuring compliance with SOX & Senior Accounting Officer - (including Blackline monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations)
* Internal and External Audits
* Statutory Account reporting and Tax Pack analysis
* Assist and cover other roles within the Finance department where necessary.
PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
To be determined through annual performance goals
TECHNICAL SKILLS/QUALS
* Part Qualified/Newly Qualified CIMA/ACCA or similar
* Minimum of 3 years of experience at a management accountant level
* Proficient with complex spreadsheets and accounting software programs
* In depth finance experience – ideally in Manufacturing or FMCG
* High attention to detail
* Knowledge of SOX - extremely beneficial but not essential
* Experience of working to tight reporting deadlines (Corporate reporting environment)
* VAT & HMRC returns
* Payroll experience – desired but not essential
* Ability to work well as a team
* SAP – beneficial but not essential

* Excellent communication skills essential, ability to give clear written and verbal instructions, clearly understand and explain technical and commercial issues to customers and have a good understanding of procedures and processes.
* Highly responsible, reliable and flexible with a strong work ethic.
* Able to effectively prioritise and adapt to a varied and changeable workload
* Proactive approach to problem resolution
* Punctual, presentable with good attendance
