Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor (Social Housing)
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + company car / fuel / benefits package
Overview: Lead all commercial, financial, and contractual aspects of multiple projects within the Building Maintenance department. Focus on maximising profitability, ensuring legal and contractual compliance, and managing all commercial issues proactively. Oversee applications, valuations, payments, and align activities with company policies. Play a key role in guiding commercial strategy and ensuring successful project delivery from a financial and contractual perspective.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Project Financial Management: Manage budgets, forecasts, financial reports, cost control, and cash collection. Provide strategic insights to maximise profitability.
2. Contract Administration: Lead contract preparation, negotiation, finalisation, and ensure obligations are met while minimising legal risks.
3. Procurement and Tendering: Oversee procurement, prepare tender documents, evaluate bids, and select subcontractors to ensure value and strategy alignment.
4. Cost Valuation and Reporting: Conduct valuations, manage payments, prepare final accounts, and oversee profitability reporting, identifying risks and opportunities.
5. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and contractual risks to safeguard the company's interests.
The Ideal Person:
* Degree qualified or relevant qualifications
* Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor
* Proven track record in senior roles with high-value projects
* Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
* Advanced contract law, building regulations, and health and safety knowledge
* Excellent commercial skills and financial reporting experience
* Social Housing or maintenance background preferred
* Good IT skills, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
* Time management skills and ability to work under pressure
