The IT Technician position has a workload consisting of technical systems administration duties and end-user support working alongside an existing team and the IT Services Manager. Most work will remain office based either at the Trust’s headquarters or its other sites as needed.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a candidate just leaving full time education studying an IT related qualification and starting a career in IT. You will be guided into the role using the technologies and tools in use at the Trust by the existing team, but a fundamental understanding and good knowledge of concepts will be required.
Responsibilities for this role:
1. Testing, deploying, and supporting new equipment and services and IT systems.
2. Supporting and maintaining existing equipment, services, and IT systems.
3. Working with Microsoft-based server operations including but not limited to:
o Active Directory
o Group Policy
o DNS and DHCP
o Microsoft Exchange
o Azure AD
o Microsoft 365
4. Configuring, installing, and supporting network and IT infrastructure, including but not limited to:
o Switching
o Wireless
o Printers
o Desktop PCs
o Laptops
o IP CCTV
o Access Control Systems
5. Providing a timely and appropriate response to end-user support issues from an IT support helpdesk.
6. Writing documentation able to be understood by any level of IT skill.

Requirements for this role are:
18. Full driving licence.
19. Minimum of Level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy (eg. GCSE English and Maths at grades A*-C)
20. Minimum of a relevant IT-based Level 3 qualification (eg. BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Information Technology)
21. Acquired, working towards, or willing to work towards a relevant IT based certification (eg. CompTIA, Microsoft Certs)
22. Problem-solving and willingness to learn new skills and procedures
23. Good problem-solving skills and ability to effectively prioritise workload
24. Flexibility in dealing with projects and working on several projects simultaneously including some out-of-hours work
25. Ability to work on individual projects and as a member of a team.
26. Good knowledge of Microsoft desktop and at a minimum, understanding server OS systems administration
