Questech Recruitment are working with a well-established manufacturing business in the sustainable processing sector to recruit an experienced Import & Export Clerk based in the Newark area.
This role sits within a small team and is primarily site-based, with occasional travel to a nearby location.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the global movement of products, demonstrating understanding of international logistics requirements.
* Prepare customer shipments from contract stage through to delivery.
* Organise freight via air, sea, rail, and road.
* Liaise with veterinary services to obtain official health certificates for export shipments, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements for products of animal origin.
* Prepare and produce packing lists, invoices, and export declarations, ensuring all required data is accurately entered into port systems and customs software in a timely manner.
* Communicate with relevant network partners and carriers.
* Track and trace all required documentation to ensure customs processes are complete and compliant.
* Handle customer enquiries and resolve queries professionally.
* Apply for documentation through Chambers of Commerce, including Certificates of Origin and ATA Carnets.
* Prepare and submit applications for embassy-issued certificates, including certificates of free sale.
* Support weighbridge operations with shipment weighing.
Requirements
* Previous experience in an import/export or logistics role is essential
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a high workload
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Willingness to learn new regulations, systems, and procedures
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
