Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Data Center Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of computer hardware and networking, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment efficiently. As a Data Center Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and performance of our data centre operations.
Duties
* Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and networking equipment.
* Troubleshoot and repair issues related to computer systems and network connectivity.
* Work with schematics to understand system layouts and configurations.
* Perform network installations, including Ethernet cabling and configuration of Cisco routers.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure optimal performance of data centre operations.
* Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues before they escalate.
* Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, installations, and system changes.
* Ensure compliance with safety standards while working with electrical components.
Requirements
* Proficiency in computer hardware repair and maintenance.
* Strong knowledge of computer networking principles, including experience with Juniper and Cisco routers.
* Familiarity with schematics and technical diagrams related to data centre operations.
* Experience in network installation and troubleshooting Ethernet connections.
* Ability to telecommunicate effectively with team members and clients.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Relevant certifications in networking or data centre management are advantageous but not essential.
* A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and processes.
