The role
We are looking for a Health & Safety Business Partner to join our Health and Safety team.
Reporting to the SA/NT Health & Safety Manager, this role forms part of the operations team, supporting the development, delivery, and implementation of strategic projects focused on health and safety performance and assurance across Adbri's operations in South Australia and Northern Territory.
This role has a key focus in shaping and promoting WHS performance standards and consistency across the business and will provide specialist technical direction, advice, and support on Work Health & Safety matters in both a corporate governance and operational setting.
This is a permanent full-time position based at our Birkenhead office with flexible working arrangements on offer!
Responsibilities
* Ensure a 100% commitment to improving health and safety within the operations.
* Identify trends, improvement opportunities, and develop WHS innovations and plans to facilitate proactive safety performance and business improvement to reduce WHS risks.
* Provide, facilitate, and deliver training, education, and coaching to employees on all aspects of Adbri’s HSE Management System or other areas as required.
* Coach line managers in incident investigation processes. Review and validate action closeout; and facilitate the development and engagement of HSE Alerts and Learnings.
* Undertake regular planned site visits to operational sites in SA and NT to deliver training, complete site audits, and attend to safety-related matters promptly as required.
What you will need to succeed
* A recognised occupational health and safety degree/course.
* Minimum 5 years of WHS experience in a regulatory, heavy industry, or infrastructure/construction environment.
* Extensive knowledge of WHS legislation and regulatory compliance.
* Experience in development, implementation, and auditing of ISO 45001 or ISO 9001 management systems, standards, procedures, and tools.
* Qualifications in incident investigation (e.g., ICAM) are desirable.
* Training experience/qualifications, e.g., Cert IV Training and Assessment, preferred.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
