SEN Teaching Assistant (Reception) – Barking
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Reception team in Barking. This role will involve working closely with high-needs children who have autism, providing tailored support to help them access learning, develop social skills, and achieve their individual goals.
Role Details:
1. Full-time position, based in Reception.
2. Supporting pupils with autism and additional needs, including children who may engage in behaviours such as nibbling.
3. Working under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning activities and provide 1:1 or small group support.
4. Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
5. Assisting with personal care and supporting emotional regulation when required.
What We’re Looking For:
6. Experience working with children with autism and high needs (EYFS experience desirable).
7. Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
8. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents.
9. A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN to thrive and reach their potential.

Location: Barking
Start Date: 1st October
Salary: 90 - 100 pound per day ( depending on experience )
