Job Title: Data Analyst
Location: Newtownards
Duration: Minimum 3 months
Pay Rate: £15.36 per hour
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm onsite (some flexibility may be allowed once fully competent)
Role Overview
You will support decision-making within the Trust by providing costing and benchmarking information. Your responsibilities include collating, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting high-quality data, leveraging new technologies to enhance usability and accessibility for non-finance managers. You will work within a small, experienced team and receive support and training on financial aspects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in producing person-level costs for hospital and community sectors, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and relevance.
2. Support the development of the regional costing system to maximize its potential for the Trust.
3. Provide costing information and advice to support patient-level costing initiatives, collaborating with senior colleagues.
4. Develop close links with service and information staff to gather and develop activity data for costing.
5. Support the Trust's Elective Care Waiting List Initiatives related to costing, modeling, and monitoring.
6. Assist in analyzing capital charges information.
7. Support the production of reports for external income providers.
8. Help analyze trust RRLs and contribute to the Strategic Resources Framework.
9. Assist departments with ad hoc costing exercises and projects.
10. Collaborate with managers and senior staff to fulfill duties effectively.
11. Analyze and present business intelligence data using various visualization tools.
12. Support managers in using costing and benchmarking data to improve resource management.
13. Promote continuous improvement within Financial Planning and the wider Finance Directorate, focusing on IT developments.
Candidate Requirements
Candidates should have:
* At least 4 years’ experience in data extraction, analysis, and presentation from complex datasets using analysis and query tools, or
* Diploma for Accounting Technicians (ATI) or equivalent (Level 5) with 2 years’ relevant experience, or
* An honours degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
Additional skills include:
* Proficient Excel skills for data cleansing and manipulation
* Ability to work independently
* Good communication skills
* Valid UK driving license and access to a car (waived for applicants with disabilities who have access to alternative transportation).
