Overview
We require a caring, compassionate, friendly and highly motivated Housekeeper to join our team on Acute floor CRH. You will possess excellent communication skills, work well as part of a team and have the ability to work in a busy and challenging environment whilst using your own initiative.
Acute floor is a medical admission unit, caring for a wide range of conditions acute/chronic including patients who may be living with Dementia or have an acute delirium therefore kindness, compassion, empathy and patience is essential.
Responsibilities
* To clear crockery, etc used outside routine clearing periods.
* To tidy/clean sluice and linen storage areas as required.
* To tidy and clean other areas on the ward on a daily or weekly as planned/scheduled.
* To assist with meals, support patients, staff and relatives as required as the ward has a protected meal times policy.
* To support with hydration and nutrition rounds
* Cleaning of all equipment on the ward.
* Ordering of stock/supplies and storage
* To create and maintain effective working relationships with other members of staff.
* To answer the telephone in a professional manner.
* To follow Health and Safety policies relevant to working environment and attend mandatory updates in accordance with Trust policy e.g. fire procedure and food hygiene.
* To adhere to Trust policies and procedures.
* To highlight potential hazards to the Nurse in Charge
* To handle appropriate equipment safely, following training/instruction.
* To decontaminate equipment according to infection control policies.
* To report faulty equipment to the Estates Department.
* To work under the direction of the Nurse in Charge with any duties, support requested.

* Participate in regular supervision.
* Attend all mandatory training.
* Participate annually identifying, developing and agreeing your own development plan with your Line Manager using the Trust Appraisal.

* Carry out duties with due regard to the Trust’s Equal Opportunity Policy.
* Seek advice and support from Line Manager whenever necessary.
* Maintain professional conduct including appearance at all times.
