An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the catering team at St Richard’s Hospice as a Kitchen/Cafe Assistant. You will be part of a team responsible for providing food and beverages for patients, staff, volunteers and visitors. Alongside catering for functions and events to raise funds to support the work of the hospice.
This is an interesting and varied role, with working patterns split between general kitchen assistant duties and café assistant duties in our superb restaurant and social space.
The successful applicant will assist the chefs with preparing and serving high quality and nutritious meals and will take responsibility for washing up and cleaning in the kitchen. On other days it will involve working in the café, making barista style coffees, making sandwiches and serving a variety of customers.
Our focus is on customer satisfaction, presentation, great service and fresh food. You will need to have high standards of customer service and food safety knowledge.
This is a full-time role, weekend and public holiday work will be required.

About you
The successful applicant will be adaptable and able to work on their own initiative as well as being part of a team. A flexible attitude to working in all areas of the catering department is essential.
If you have a passion for catering, have excellent customer service skills and would like to make a difference to patients living with a terminal illness and their families we would love to hear from you.

Previous experience in a catering environment and in a customer service role are essential.
