The Role As a Cover Supervisor, you will: - Supervise classes using pre-prepared lesson materials in the absence of the teacher - Maintain order, manage behaviour, and ensure a safe, productive learning environment - Support students with questions during tasks - Report on class progress, behaviour, and any issues to teaching staff - Occasionally assist with exam invigilation, extra‑curricular duties or other school support tasks Why This Role Stands Out: - Strong daily rates (£90–£110 per day) - No planning or marking burden - Flexible work pattern — choose which days you work - Valuable experience for future teaching or youth work roles - Variety across different schools and student groups - Pathway to permanent education roles Who We’re Looking For: - Youth workers, sports coaches, mentors, or anyone with experience engaging young people - Confident in managing groups and behaviour positively - Reliable, punctual, adaptable - Strong communication and presence About you: To be considered for the Youth Worker – Cover Supervisor position, you will: Have previous experience working with youth aged 11, supporting their learning and wellbeing. Be confident in supervising classes in the absence of teachers, ensuring students remain engaged and on task. Have experience in behaviour management, mentoring, or youth engagement, ideally in a school or community setting. Hold relevant qualifications such as Youth Work, Education, Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or Health and Social Care – desirable but not essential. Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. Be able to obtain suitable references and an enhanced DBS check.
