Mears work in partnership with central and local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team, supporting the expansion of commercial control and management across the AASC contract. This is a key role providing commercial rigour, guidance and insight to operational teams to enable efficient and informed business decision making. You will play a vital role in controlling costs, budgets and value across housing management contracts, ensuring strong commercial governance, accurate reporting and effective income recovery while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience and quality standards. This role supports the delivery of best-in-class commercial management across housing contracts, working closely with operational and commercial stakeholders to ensure robust financial control and compliance with contractual requirements. Role Responsibilities Control cost, budgetary and value analysis in line with contract terms and company governance. Produce budgets, cost value reconciliations, forecasts, valuations, variations and final accounts. Manage the processing of valuation certificates and documentation to support timely income recovery. Manage subcontractor processes including orders, certification and payments in line with company procedures. Undertake pre and post contract quantity surveying duties including pricing, measurement and final accounts. Monitor and advise on key performance indicators and subcontractor performance. Ensure health and safety, quality standards and customer experience remain central to all activities. Role Criteria HNC, HND or Degree in Construction or Building Services. Strong knowledge of building construction, contract types and quantity surveying procedures within social housing. Experience taking quantities from drawings and working in line with Standard Method of Measurement Seventh Edition. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines within cost constraints. Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly. IT literate with good written and verbal communication skills.
