Brook Street recruitment is currently working on behalf of our Belfast city centre client to recruit a legal secretary with hands-on legal secretary experience to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-known firm in the city centre, close to all public transport links.
Candidates must have experience of legal aid work/LAMS to work on plaintiff litigation, criminal, and possibly family matters.
Responsibilities
1. Providing secretarial and administrative support for other fee earners
2. Typing, filing, and archiving duties
3. Covering reception duties including answering telephones when required
4. Completing all documentation required for clients
5. Photocopying and compiling documentation
6. Managing a neat filing system and diary of key dates for allocated fee earners
7. Maintaining a tidy work station and work area at all times
8. Ordering stationery and purchasing postage stamps
9. Performing other duties relevant to the role
Essential Skills
1. Experience as a legal secretary in Plaintiff litigation, Criminal, and Family Law (NOT a paralegal)
2. Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workload
3. Attention to detail and high accuracy
4. Strong audio typing skills
5. Ability to work successfully as part of a team
6. Experience in conveyancing, family, or criminal law is preferred
Salary will be circa 25K per year.
