Resilient Teaching Assistant Needed, Eastbourne
We are working with a school seeking a resilient and dedicated Teaching Assistant for a specialized institution for excluded students. Prior experience in youth work or as a prison officer is preferred, but not mandatory. Resilience and a supportive attitude are essential due to the unique challenges of the role.
Start Date: September 2024
Hours: Monday to Friday, term time only
Responsibilities:
* Handle situations calmly and sensitively
* Be creative in supporting pupils with additional needs
* Develop trusting relationships with students
* Collaborate with staff and external agencies
* Support pupils' academic, emotional, and personal development with empathy
* Motivate and inspire trust in students
* Use initiative to meet individual needs considering communication and learning skills
* Experience working with young people or vulnerable adults, paid or voluntary
* Basic IT skills
