Reporting to our ICT Data Architect, the ICT Data Engineer is responsible for the delivery and maintenance of the VWUK Data Platform ingestion layer and data pipelines. On larger, more intricate projects, the ICT Data Engineer may be required to carry out the same tasks for a section or sections of work as an ICT Data Analyst. With our role you'll be involved in scoping, development, testing, deployment, change management, incident management, governance, security and quality.
Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines to support analytics and reporting needs in the ICT Data and Reporting team and the business functions and business units they are supporting.
* Ensure data is extracted, transformed, and loaded efficiently across the company data platform.
* Develop and maintain pipelines that serve the following layers within the VWUK Data Platform architecture
o Data extraction layer
o Data loading / staging layer
o Data transformation layer
o Data visualisation layer
* Collaborate with data analysts, report writers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
Strong demonstrable experience as Data Engineer in Azure environment for medium/large organisation.
* Preferable to have Azure qualifications/certifications for data engineering.
* Expert in ETL / ELT processes.
* Master's or Bachelor's degree in relevant subjects, or the equivalent on-the-job experience/professional certification.
* Experience of Construction industry desirable.
