* You’re persistent without being annoying
* You’re comfortable starting conversations with people who’ve never heard of us
* You’re practical, down to earth, and credible in a depot or workshop environment
* You actually like talking to people and being out in the real world, not just sending emails
What’s In It For You
* A well‑established, respected business with a strong reputation in the rail industry
* An interesting product range to sell
* Long‑term customer relationships rather than one‑off transactional sales
* A role where you can genuinely make a big impact on and share in the growth of the business
About Us
Depot Rail was started in 2002 as a business to distribute specialist equipment for railway workshops and has grown to be a leading supplier in this market. We operate with specialist equipment manufacturers as their exclusive distributor for the UK and Irish markets. We have long term partnerships with these manufacturers, some of them stretching back to 2002.
We operate from a workshop / office in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, which provides us with a central base to cover the whole of the UK and Ireland. Our workshop is used as a store for spare parts and to provide overhaul / refurbishment services for our products. We also manufacture some of our own products in this space.
Although this role is intended to be a means of expanding our reach for all products by being more present in the market, the role is intended to have a specific focus on the Zephir range of shunters that we supply into maintenance depots, rail freight facilities and industrial rail facilities. We supplied our first Zephir shunter in 2007 and have 60 Zephir machines in the UK and Ireland. There is significant scope for expansion with this product range.
