About us We are a well established GMS practice in a market town on the edge of the Ribble Valley. Impressive spacious modern premises with wide array of clinical facilities and multi‑disciplinary team onsite. We have 9400 patients cared for by a team of 6 Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 1 Advanced Practitioner, 1 Trainee Advanced Practitioner, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 HCA and a large Reception and Admin team. We also have our PCN team consisting of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, First Contact Physio, GP Assistant, Mental Health Team, Health & Wellbeing Coach and a weekly ante‑natal session led by the Midwife.
We have excellent QOF attainment and are rated GOOD by CQC. EMIS is our clinical system, alongside Patchs for triage. There are no extended hours commitment. We are an accredited training practice taking medical students, FY2 and STs.
Job responsibilities The post-holder will provide high-quality primary care services to the practice population, delivering safe, effective, and patient‑centred care within a supportive multidisciplinary team environment. The Salaried GP will undertake a full range of general medical services in accordance with the NHS contract and professional standards.
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide face‑to‑face, telephone, and online consultations for patients
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
Prescribe medications appropriately and safely
Undertake home visits where required
Review pathology results, correspondence, and investigations
Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records
Refer patients appropriately to secondary care and community services
Participate in safeguarding processes for vulnerable adults and children
Promote health education and preventative care
Administrative Responsibilities
Process clinical correspondence and workflow tasks
Complete referrals, medical reports, and other documentation
Participate in practice meetings and clinical discussions
Support QOF, enhanced services, and practice improvement activities
Team Working
Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and wider practice staff
Support training and supervision where appropriate
Contribute positively to practice development and service delivery
Professional Responsibilities
Maintain full GMC registration and licence to practise
Adhere to GMC guidance and NHS policies
Participate in annual appraisal and revalidation
Maintain mandatory and statutory training requirements
Engage in continuing professional development (CPD)
Person Specification Qualifications
Qualified General Practitioner with GMC registration and licence to practise
Experience working within UK General Practice
Included on the NHS Performers List
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to high‑quality patient care
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Experience with EMIS and Patchs
