Overview
The Nursery Nurse plays a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children in a nursery setting. This position requires a nurturing and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about early childhood development. The Nursery Nurse will work closely with children, supporting their learning and development while ensuring a safe and stimulating environment. We are looking for an experienced Nursery Nurse to join our lying Start team in readiness for Phase 3 of the Flying Start expansion. Hours are 9.15am-12.15pm (plus 1 additional hour 1 day a week) 5 days per week, term-time only.
Duties
* Provide attentive and responsive care to children, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
* Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning through play, focusing on the individual needs of each child.
* Observe and assess children's progress, documenting their development and communicating findings to parents and colleagues.
* Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming nursery environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
* Support the management of daily nursery routines, including meal times, nap times, and transitions between activities.
* Work collaboratively with other staff members to create a cohesive team environment that prioritises the needs of the children.
Skills
* Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with children, parents, and colleagues.
* A background in early childhood education is highly desirable to support the developmental needs of children.
* Strong leadership skills to guide and inspire both children and fellow team members.
* Experience working in a nursery or childcare setting is beneficial for understanding the dynamics of early years education.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a calm demeanour in a busy environment.
* A genuine passion for working with children, coupled with the ability to drive engagement through creative activities.
