The role
This is a Health, Safety and Environmental Administrator role supporting a busy manufacturing operation. The position is predominantly administrative but also includes regular shopfloor presence to support inspections, checks and day-to-day safety activities.
You will play a key role in maintaining health, safety and environmental systems, ensuring documentation, records and compliance activities are accurate, up to date and well organised.
Key responsibilities
Maintaining and updating health, safety and environmental documentation
Managing Excel trackers, logs and compliance records
Updating procedures, handbooks and internal systems
Maintaining noticeboards, signage and training matrices
Coordinating fire safety and first aid administration, including checks and records
Supporting audits, inspections and corrective action tracking
Issuing internal communications and meeting notes
Carrying out regular shopfloor checks and supporting basic risk assessments
Working closely with operational teams within a manufacturing environment
About you
You will be highly organised, methodical and comfortable working with detail. You will enjoy structured administrative work but also be confident spending time on the shopfloor within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
You are likely to have worked in roles such as:
Health & Safety Administrator
H&S Assistant
SHE Administrator
Compliance Administrator
Quality / ISO Administrator with health and safety exposure
Essential requirements
IOSH qualification or another recognised Health & Safety qualification
Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or logistics environment
Strong administrative skills with confidence using Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience maintaining records, trackers and compliance documentation
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of administrative processes
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
Exposure to risk assessments, audits or compliance systems
Experience working within an engineering or production-led environment
