Your role and responsibilities
If you are as passionate as we are about enabling all children and young people (CYP) to reach their full potential, we welcome you to apply for this unique role supporting the medical needs of CYP in both the school and home settings.
You will:
* Support CYP with complex medical needs to access school or other educational settings
* Collaborate with education, health, and social care colleagues to optimise CYP’s wellbeing, providing a great opportunity for multiagency working.
This role is varied, challenging, and rewarding. We take pride in making a positive impact on CYP and their families each day. All training will be provided, and you will be fully supported by children’s nurses to become a competent and trusted practitioner, enabling CYP to experience an enriching life with their peers.
You will need:
* A willingness to learn and grow
* The ability to cope with the physical demands of the role, including significant moving and handling of non-mobile CYP
* Effective communication skills for successful team working
* The ability to work independently once trained, with all necessary tools provided
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent in education or health and social care

The team
Our team provides high-quality, one-on-one support for children and young people with complex health needs, helping them access education. Tasks may include tube feeding, medication administration, oral suction, tracheostomy care, wound care, and oxygen administration. We foster a supportive, collaborative environment, and you will also support new starters in developing their skills and wellbeing.
