About The Role
As our Neighbourhood Services Manager, you'll lead, develop, and inspire the Neighbourhood Services Team to ensure the highest standards of estate management and building safety compliance. You'll play a pivotal role in delivering excellent communal services, managing contracts, driving service improvements, and ensuring our neighbourhoods remain vibrant, well-maintained places to live.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Leading & Developing a High-Performing Team – Recruiting, training, and supporting the Neighbourhood Services Team Leaders and frontline staff.
* Ensuring Service Excellence – Overseeing estate inspections, building safety checks, and communal services to maintain high standards.
* Engaging with Tenants & Communities – Working closely with residents to address concerns, improve satisfaction, and foster community pride.
* Driving Environmental & Service Improvement Projects – Leading initiatives that enhance our estates and tackle key challenges.
* Managing Health, Safety & Compliance – Ensuring adherence to safety policies, risk management procedures, and safeguarding protocols.
* Overseeing Budgets & Financials – Managing budgets effectively to ensure value for money and financial transparency.
* Monitoring Contracts & Performance – Ensuring service providers meet expectations and driving continuous improvement.
We've recently brought together our Neighbourhood Rangers, Concierge, and Caretaking Services into one dynamic team of 30 colleagues and 3 Team Leaders — and we're now seeking an exceptional candidate to lead the team and take ownership of estate management across three Midland Heart sites. Not only will have the opportunity to develop, guide and motivate a high performing team, but you'll be also entrusted with the autonomy to shape the service!
Our Ideal Candidate? To succeed in this role, you'll need:
* Proven experience in estate management, repairs, or environmental services, with experience of delivering service improvements that positively impact customer experience.
* Experience of managing a team with experience of team development and performance management.
* In-depth knowledge and experience of Health & Safety regulations, compliance, and risk management.
* Financial acumen, including budget management and contract oversight.
* Excellent IT skills, including experience with reporting and performance monitoring systems.
* A customer-focused mindset with strong communication and stakeholder management abilities (customer groups, internal and external partners).
Midland Heart operates Smart Working practices, through which colleagues deliver services from the location their best delivered on any given day. The successful candidate should therefore expect to work from a Midland Heart site a minimum of 3 days per week, with the remainder worked remotely.
