About the Role
As a Mid-Market Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting complex commercial insurance risks, ensuring profitability while maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients. You will play a key role in driving business growth and delivering tailored insurance solutions to mid-market customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess and underwrite mid-market commercial risks in line with company guidelines.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients to drive business growth.
* Negotiate policy terms and pricing to ensure competitive and profitable underwriting.
* Utilize data-driven insights to support underwriting decisions.
* Collaborate with internal teams, including claims and actuarial departments, to optimize underwriting strategies.
* Ensure compliance with underwriting policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience in commercial underwriting, preferably in mid-market segments.
* Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
* Knowledge of UK insurance regulations and market trends.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., CII, ACII) are desirable.
