Join the Adult Social Care Deprivation of Liberties Safeguarding Team (DoLS) and play a vital role in supporting our work under the Mental Capacity Act.

We're looking for a full-time DoLS Coordinator who is organised, enthusiastic and keen to make a difference—helping manage referrals, coordinate assessments, maintain systems and monitor key data.

You’ll need good knowledge of adult social care legislation, great IT skills - especially with spreadsheets - and strong communication and customer service abilities. In return, you'll receive regular supervision and ongoing support from a friendly and collaborative team.

As a DoLS Coordinator, you’ll help shape and manage the Council’s functions under the Mental Capacity Act, ensuring robust, efficient systems are in place while leading on improvements and preparing for future legislative changes. You’ll work in a dynamic team environment, liaising with colleagues, advocacy services, and partner agencies — all while honing your administrative skills in data reporting, budgeting, customer service and professional record keeping.

Applicants should have a wide experience and knowledge of using standard IT software, Maths and English at GCSE grade 9-4 / A-C equivalent, and excellent communication and customer service skills. You will require experience of Adult Social Care systems and developing administrative systems. You must be able to prioritise and organise tasks in a busy setting, help improve local processes and be flexible in order to be able to manage varying workloads within required timescales.

If you’re highly organised, detail-oriented and a confident communicator with a passion for delivering person-centred outcomes, we’d love to hear from you. This role offers the chance to truly influence service delivery and help drive meaningful change in adult social care.

For further information or an informal discussion, please contact Ginny Smith at 01983 821000 ext. 5946 or email ginny.smith@iow.gov.uk

* Discounted island sports & leisure gym membership
* National and local discounts & benefits schemes
