Based in the village of Swatragh, NCCE is a leading independent agriculture co-operative with over 60 years of experience in providing top quality farm products at competitive rates.

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual who wants to play a crucial role in supporting finance function and contribute significantly to our success.

Job Purpose
The Commercial Manager will join and form part of the Senior Leadership Team of NCCE, with responsibility for growing the business and increasing profitability. The successful candidate will provide direction through engaging leadership across the organisation to achieve our growth and profitability plans, helping to form and delivery the 5 year strategy.
Responsibilities and Duties
Commercial:
* Responsible for the delivery of budgeted margin across the NCCE estate.
* Assisting with the negotiating of suppliers to achieve the best deals and margin for NCCE and our customers.
* Delivery of a marketing plan
* Showcasing NCCE’s portfolio and representation of the company at required events.
* Growing our training service and usage of our training centre
* Working with our existing retail and wholesale businesses to grow sales and margin
* Managing the daily activities of the commercial team.
* Ensuring smooth operations and adherence to company policies.
* Performing sales analyses to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
* Monitoring sales performance and setting targets.
Strategic Planning:
* Developing and implementing commercial strategies.
* Aligning strategies with the organisation's overall business objectives.
Contract Negotiation:
* Negotiating contracts with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders.
* Ensuring favourable terms and conditions for the organisation.
Client Relationship Management:
* Maintaining relationships with existing clients.
* Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
* Identifying potential risks that could impact business operations.
* Developing strategies to mitigate these risks.
Purchasing Decisions:
* Making purchasing decisions to support business operations.
* Ensuring cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
* Leading and mentoring the commercial team.
* Providing training and development opportunities.
Compliance and Reporting:
* Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
* Preparing reports on commercial activities and performance.

About you
As a skilled Commercial Manager, you adeptly oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth commercial activities. Your expertise in sales analysis, market trend assessment, and strategic planning drives growth and aligns with business goals. You excel in contract negotiation, client relationship management, and risk mitigation. Your leadership fosters a productive team environment, and you ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications
·A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) or equivalent including English Language and Mathematics.
·5 years of relevant experience in management
·Detailed working knowledge of HACCP
·Knowledge of management accounts, budgets and forecasting
·Experience of growing margin and exceeding budgets
·Strong knowledge of the convenience retail environment is strongly desired
·Knowledge of agricultural products would be advantageous
·Being Educated to a degree level is desirable
·A sense of urgency and accuracy when undertaking tasks and responding to queries, even when under pressure.
·Having a can-do attitude.
·Good team player and to have a proactive approach to all tasks.
·Empathetic and use emotional intelligence when communicating with staff and our stakeholders.
· Proactive attitude to your own learning, development and performance.
