Position Overview:
This is a full-time Union position responsible for completing jobs proficiently and on time, participating in pre-job briefings, project foresight, and three-week look-ahead projections.
Location & Travel:
* York, Lancaster, and Harrisburg area.
* Field assignment: Be ready for work on time and abide by IBEW Code of Excellence.
* Ability to work in all construction-related environments: heights, vertical, hot, cold, inside, outside, noise, office, etc.
* Occasional travel as necessary to other local union jurisdictions, trainings, offsite meetings, customer, or vendor facilities.
Responsibilities:
* Submit timesheets and phase codes correctly and on time.
* Report equipment and tooling on timesheets or project-specific documents.
* Install, support, and service audio, video, and security systems for various customers.
* Maintain, distribute, install, configure, repair, and upgrade electronic products, ensuring optimal performance.
* Troubleshoot problem systems accurately.
* Provide end-user training and assistance as required.
* Lead installations using standard engineering drawings, install and terminate cables.
* Mount and install displays, ceiling speakers, equipment racks, wiring, door access hardware, video IP cameras, and general audio/video devices.
* Handle projects related to security (cameras and access control), audio (paging and sound reinforcement), video (displays and workstations), and service (emergency calls & troubleshooting).
Core Competencies:
* Proficient in troubleshooting and field installations.
* Familiar with relevant technology and equipment.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Ability to interact professionally with customers, electricians, and general contractors.
* Basic software and network/IP configuration skills.
* Mechanical aptitude.
* Understanding of low voltage systems for audio, video, control, and security.
* Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals, and make field modifications.
* Strong communication skills and customer service attitude.
* Decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
Qualifications:
* 3-5 years of experience in the physical security field.
* Valid Driver's License or equivalent.
* Compliance with Federal I-9 requirements.
* Knowledge of Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA, local codes, utility, BICSI, TIA/EIA, and OSHA requirements.
* Genetec Certifications.
* Major camera manufacturer certifications (Axis, Hanwha, Bosch, iPro, etc.).
* BICSI Certifications.
* Experience with A/V installation is a plus.
* Fiber/structured cabling experience.
