JOB TITLE: Residual Value (RV) Research Manager - Transport
LOCATION(S): Manchester
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time at an office hub mentioned above.

Residual Value (RV) management plays a vital role in supporting the UK's transition to Electric Vehicles (EVs), a key pillar of LBG’s purpose: .
As RV Research Manager, reporting to the Senior Manager, RV Development, you’ll lead the research into existing and emerging trends that influence used vehicle market values. Your insights will directly inform our RV forecasting models and strategic decision-making.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Deliver thought leadership on future market trends, including vehicle technology, legislation, and consumer behaviour.
2. Analyse macroeconomic and industry factors affecting RVs, such as supply volumes, OEM strategies, and demand shifts.
3. Produce segmentation analysis to support RV forecasting (e.g. fuel types, age categories, vehicle segments).
4. Collaborate with internal teams (RV Forecasting, Group Finance, Risk) to evolve RV risk segmentation and strategy.
5. Create and present stakeholder briefings that demonstrate innovative thinking and commercial application of RV insights.
6. Build strong relationships across the Transport business, OEMs, and external market insight providers.
What you’ll need
7. Expertise in Residual Value forecastingis essential.
8. Strong understanding offinancial and econometric modellingtechniques; familiarity withCAP data structuresis a plus.
9. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and dynamic market conditions.
10. Strategic mindset with the ability to interpret and apply market, competitor, and business insights.
11. Proven ability to build influential relationships and communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
12. Experience in preparing and presenting papers to senior stakeholders.
