Our Structures Design Teams are looking for a highly motivated Technician with good technical background to be involved in the delivery of bridge design and maintenance schemes. This position is offered as an apprenticeship with the expectation that the successful applicant will complete a Level 6 Civil Engineer Degree apprenticeship at the University of Portsmouth. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to achieve BSc or BEng Civil Engineers (ICE). The time commitment for the apprenticeship will include one day a week paid day release at the university and all costs of travelling to the training location will be reimbursed.. More information is available here -: Apprenticeships Working in the Structures Design Teams, you will assist our Engineers in the delivery of a wide variety of bridge maintenance, strengthening and replacement schemes, as well as helping with the inspection of bridges and other highway structures whilst fully exploiting the learning opportunities afforded by the experience, and pro-actively pursuing personal development towards professional qualification. You should be familiar with the relevant design and assessment standards and bridge inspections.
