From January 2026, we are seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and committed individual to lead on our Initial Teacher Training Programme.

Recently validated by the University of Huddersfield, Scarborough Sixth Form College is excited to offer Teacher Training Programmes.

Ranging from level 3 to level 7, we will be offering the following programmes:

* Certificate in Education
* Professional Graduate Certificate in Education
* Postgraduate Certificate in Education
* Postgraduate Diploma in Education

Along with offering the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, Scarborough Sixth Form College aims to be the market lead for Initial Teacher Training programmes in Scarborough and along the Yorkshire Coast.

The role of ITT Programme Lead offers the successful candidate the opportunity to develop and grow the provision, raise the aspirations of local people, aid social mobility and support the local and national workforce through teaching individuals to share their skills to train others.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivery, coordination and management of the teacher training programmes from level 3 to 7.

They will need to be a dedicated and forward-thinking individual who is passionate about the power of education and who is able to motivate and inspire others to train to teach others. They will model current and best practice pedagogy for teaching adults and deliver innovative and creative lessons to trainees/students from a variety of diverse backgrounds who have the desire to inspire, educate and share their skills with others.

The successful candidate will be appointed on a permanent, full time contract and paid on the National Pay Scales for Teachers in Sixth Form Colleges, within the range £32,178 - £49,725 p.a. dependent on experience.

Salary payments are made monthly by credit transfer in arrears on the last business bank day of the month.

You will be eligible to join the Teachers' Pension Scheme.

Scarborough Sixth Form College is the main provider of level three education in the area, offering A levels, T levels and BTECs to over 1000 students.Outcomes and Progress at the college are high with an A level pass rate of 99% and around 50% of grades achieved are A%-B and 75% of vocational qualifications are graded Distinction* or Distinction. As a result, our students progress to good destinations with the majority going to universities, including Oxbridge, with the remainder seeking apprenticeships or employment. The college has an outstanding reputation in the area and is very much part of the community. Many of our parents and staff are alumni of the college.

The college is a welcoming and friendly place with excellent facilities. Our extensive curriculum offers students a wide range of subject choices and combinations to enable them to progress effectively towards their desired career. As an inclusive college, support for students is excellent and they tell us every year that they feel safe and well looked after at college. In our most recent inspection, we were graded 'Good' in all areas and 'Outstanding' for provision for learners with high needs. Inspectors reported that: "Staff create a positive culture at the college, which results in a high level of mutual respect between staff and students. Students value the support that they receive from their teachers. They display positive attitudes to their learning and are attentive in lessons. Students respond well to feedback from their teachers to help them improve, and are highly motivated to do their best."
