Role: Accounts Receivable Administrator
Location: Peterborough
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Salary: Circa £26,000 a year, depending on experience

The Role
We're excited to announce a new chapter for our finance department atMarshall Motor Group! As part of our expansion, we’re moving into a brand-new, modern office designed to foster collaboration and creativity. This move marks a thrilling period of growth for our team, with the introduction of a new management structure that will create even more opportunities for leadership, development, and career progression.
As aAccounts Receivable Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our credit accounts. You’ll be responsible for applying due diligence and maintaining effective credit control procedures, helping to minimize debtor levels while ensuring compliance with Marshall Accounting Policies.

Who You Are
We are looking for someone who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and is eager to learn and develop their career in finance. You should be someone who enjoys problem-solving and can handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Key qualities we are looking for include:
1. Strong IT skills, especially with Microsoft Office applications
2. Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to relay information clearly
3. A proactive self-starter who can manage time and workload effectively
4. Enjoys working with numbers and has the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
5. Experience in a large accounting office (ideally 2+ years) is beneficial, but not required—automotive retail sector experience is a plus!
6. Knowledge of the Kerridge/Keyloop dealer management system is an advantage, but not essential
7. For those without prior experience in accounting, we are still interested in your application if you have strong numeracy skills and previous experience in a busy office environment with regular customer/stakeholder interaction.
What You’ll Do
As a Accounts Receivable Administrator, your key responsibilities will include:
8. Maintaining a high standard of ledger management, ensuring records are accurate and up-to-date
9. Posting receipts and daily banking to the ledger, ensuring everything is reconciled correctly
10. Posting journals as needed and raising re-charge/adhoc invoices
11. Identifying and resolving invoicing errors by liaising with internal teams
12. Managing cheque preparations and ensuring they’re ready for collection
13. Chasing overdue invoices and ensuring payments are made on time via phone and email
14. Conducting Experian credit checks for new customers to assess eligibility for credit
15. Handling payment queries promptly and accurately, both internally and externally
