Job Purpose
As Senior Producer you will play an important role in implementing our clients’ objectives, addressing the clients’ business challenges, working in collaboration with colleagues in the Strategy & Planning, Creative, Digital disciplines, and the Integrated Production team to deliver the project on time, on budget and on brief.
GPJ will look to the Senior Producer to work either independently on a project or be a key player on larger projects, under the guidance of the Executive Producer. As Senior Producer, you will champion your area of Integrated Production expertise within the business, providing excellent service to our clients, commercial success for GPJ and the continued growth and development of your competency across the agency’s Integrated Production team.
Although event production and operational oversight will make up the largest proportion of this role, experience of delivering live content programmes is also required.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Delivery
1. Managing large scale, complex projects, or project areas, and leading Integrated Production teams to deliver for the client
2. Taking on overall accountability for all aspects of project delivery, including those directly managed by others
3. Responsible for the creation and ongoing management of project timelines and plans to ensure programmes are on track and in line with the overarching project plan
4. Responsible for proactively advising the client on all and any delivery and operational considerations
5. Developing and/or approving budgets, timelines and supplier contributions, in response to specific client and business needs
6. Accountable for the quality of delivery within yours and your direct team’s remit, including the provision of proactive operational expertise to the client / project lead as required
Content
7. Experience in managing live productions, such as keynote auditorium productions, awards ceremonies and musical events
8. Managing content delivery including working with client teams on workflows, stakeholder management, developing running orders, overseeing video and presentation development, liaising with technical teams and managing graphics operators, showcallers, stage managers
9. Collaborating internally and externally to create meaningful content programmes, identifying key topics for events, as well as developing recommended event agendas
10. Sourcing/contracting and managing appropriate guest speakers/acts
Creative
11. Ensure the project creative process is understood and successfully adhered to by all project team members
12. Work in close partnership with the Creative Directors and Strategists to ensure all work produced meets clients’ strategic objectives
13. Lead key client and internal meetings to provide input / expertise related to production elements within yours and your team’s remit
14. Maintain ongoing cross-and inter-agency collaboration to ensure an aligned approach for meeting client objectives
Talent Management
15. Understand and be able to communicate knowledge of the skill sets and abilities across the Integrated Production department
16. Support the Integrated Production Leadership Team with successfully casting the appropriate resource to the accounts and projects
17. Demonstrate leadership attributes, managing substantial teams across the business, supporting change, managing yours and your team’s workload, instilling best practice
18. Ability to clearly communicate performance expectations to your direct reports and line manager
19. Ability to nurture, grow and develop your direct reports and project team
20. Drive, support and champion Talent initiatives where agreed and necessary
Client Relationships
21. Work in close partnership with the Executive Producers to ensure successful management and retention of key clients and projects
22. Partner with clients to provide strategic oversight and counsel on deliverables, managing client expectations accordingly
23. Collaborate with the Executive Producers on understanding and informing clients’ objectives, ensuring project outputs meet these objectives and deliver great results and unlock future opportunities
24. Articulate, write and present a clear vision of project success, in order to gain the confidence of a client audience, providing guidance and counsel where relevant
New Business Development
25. Lead Integrated Production elements of the pitch process when required
26. Create GPJ PM and third party budgets as needed for client pitch submissions
27. Attend and present pitch presentations when required
28. Actively promote GPJ through best practice
29. Understand the vision and strategy of GPJ and spot opportunities to support commercial growth
Finance
30. If assigned as project lead (on mid-to-large scale deliveries) you will be accountable for the profitability of the overall project, protecting the commercial health of projects including the ongoing management of the SOW
31. Work in close collaboration with the Executive Producer on the ongoing management of project forecasting
32. Work with the account leads to identify commercial opportunities within your area of the business
33. Responsible for overseeing and approving high-value vendor quotes and change orders, with an continuous focus on how to drive value, profitability and efficiency
34. Lead on, or supporting the Executive Producer with, numerous timely and accurate budget reconciliations simultaneously, often across multiple currencies
35. Ongoing evaluation of job cost reports and timesheets – proactively addressing issues and making recommendations ahead of time

Your Background, Skills & Experience
48. A minimum of 8 years experience in complex event project delivery, including managing and reconciling budgets of over £1 million
49. Experience of large exhibitions and sponsorship would be an advantage
50. An effective communicator who is honest, clear and constructive with your communications
51. Active listening skills and can remain open-minded in all situations
52. Ability to lead and support courageous conversations
53. Decisive, with the ability to make several decisions at once, and quickly
54. Previous line management experience
55. Strong understanding of financial software
56. Experience of responding and delivering to clients with content, digital, social media and technical solutions
