As a Site Engineer – Maintenance in our Health team, you’ll help ensure a safe, reliable and compliant hospital environment for colleagues, patients and visitors. Every day, your decisions will support essential clinical services and create the conditions for people to receive the care they need. You’ll play a lead role in managing maintenance operations across a complex healthcare estate, working closely with technical specialists, colleagues and clients. Your work will help protect critical infrastructure, strengthen compliance and shape a future‑focused, high‑performing Hard FM service that positively impacts the local community. What you’ll do You’ll be entrusted to: Lead the day‑to‑day management of a multi‑disciplinary Hard FM team, ensuring high‑quality service delivery Act as the contract lead for all maintenance matters, ensuring compliance with technical, statutory and regulatory standards Work closely with in‑house engineers and specialist contractors to maintain mechanical, electrical and electronic systems across the hospital estate Carry out Responsible Person and Authorising Person duties within your area of competency Manage maintenance budgets, support lifecycle planning, and oversee variations, minor works and defect resolution Does this sound like you? You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have… Experience in a similar maintenance leadership role within a complex environment, ideally healthcare An HNC/HND (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline, or a strong trade background Sound knowledge of mechanical, electrical or electronic systems used in large estates Experience managing colleagues and building strong relationships with clients A full driving licence and the ability to work to tight deadlines in a demanding environment Vetting and checks This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme, which involves a detailed check of spent and unspent convictions and other relevant information to ensure safeguarding compliance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can provide any necessary support to help you carry out your responsibilities.
