We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated full-time Porter to join our Portering Service working across the University Campuses.
As part of the Estates department, the Portering team plays a significant role in providing service excellence to the University community, visitors, and guests. Responsibilities include minor office moves, collecting exam papers, building security, and supporting major university events such as Open Days, Graduation, and external conferences. The team collaborates closely with other Estates teams, Building Support, Cleaning, and Security to ensure continuous service.

The Estates team manages and maintains the university’s buildings, cares for Champion Trees, an expansive lake, and the Sports Park, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work environment.

You Will Have
* A current full clean UK Driving Licence and willingness to drive company vehicles, including large transit and tail lift vehicles
* Recent experience in a customer-focused, fast-paced environment
* Knowledge of heavy lifting processes and health and safety procedures
* Availability to work rotating shifts: Week 1 07:30-15:30, Week 2 14:00-22:00
* IT literacy, including MS Office and technology use
* Flexibility, initiative, and good prioritization skills
* Teamwork experience
* Excellent English communication skills
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* Confidence, friendliness, and politeness
* Good general health
* Willingness to work overtime when needed
