The role
As a Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be accountable for the delivery of your allocated part of the infrastructure programme
Day to day, you’ll manage a large number of construction and engineering projects, with both high value and significant degree of complexity. You will take projects from business case through to handover delivering projects to time, cost and quality.
1. Understanding the Client’s requirements
2. Developing the project brief (Scope, Schedule, Budget, Risk)
3. Co-ordinating the production of concept and technical design
4. Managing tender process, arrange funding from Client, through to contract award
5. Acting as PM on NEC 4 contracts and managing EW and CE process through to completion
This role is based on site at HMNB Clyde, near Helensburgh
Essential experience of the Project Manager:
6. Experience as a Client Side Project Manager in delivering construction or engineering infrastructure projects
7. Knowledge of standard forms of contract e.g., NEC4 or JCT
8. Experience at design team management through RIBA plan of work stages
9. Experience of acting as Principal Designer under CDM15 regulations
10. Experience and familiarisation of modern Project Management methodologies e.g., APM
11. Experience and familiarisation of Project Management toolsets e.g. Primavera, MS Project
12. Knowledge of risk management
Qualifications for the Project Manager
13. Degree in Surveying, Construction Management or similar ideally
14. Minimum HNC in relevant construction or engineering discipline; either Building Construction, Project Management, Electrical or Mechanical,
15. Full member or working towards full membership of RICS, CIOB etc
16. Ideally APM Project Management Qualification or equivalent
