Job Details
Hunger and poverty are having a detrimental effect on children’s ability to concentrate and engage in their school learning. Hunger often leads to lethargy and sometimes even disruptive behaviour, which ultimately leads to children not engaging in the classroom.
A Childcare Practitioner working in a Breakfast Café will provide a safe, secure environment before school where all children attending are provided with a healthy breakfast (ranging from cereal, toast, fruit and yoghurts).
Breakfast Cafés are a drop-in service and are not a registered childcare provision.
Operational hours are 7.45am-9am, with children attending from 8am.

The Person
We are looking for someone who:
1. Has understanding and experience working in a catering environment role.
2. Understands dietary and nutritional needs.
3. Possesses organisational skills.
4. Is willing to work as part of a team.
5. Is fun, engaging, and adaptable.

Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
