We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for delivering work that's driven by excellence as well as doing the right thing. We are seeking a personable, ambitious, enthusiastic, and energetic Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Cost and Commercial Practice in the North East, to support our continuing growth within the local market.
As senior member of the team, you'll work closely with the delivery team to ensure commercial targets are met, risks are managed, and project controls are maintained. You will be working on a variety of education, commercial, defence, industrial, retail, projects to name only a few, primarily in the North East but also the wider UK.
Your role
We are looking for a well‑rounded Senior Quantity Surveyor with pre and post contract experience.
* Collaboration – working in the client team and liaising with leadership, project managers, contractors, and internal teams to maintain strong relationships.
* Cost Management – estimate, monitor and control project costs both pre and post contract, to ensure the project is delivered within budget. Validate and manage contractor and supplier costs & payments.
* Reporting – provide regular financial reports to ensure our clients have confidence in their project outcomes. Present financial performance and risk updates.
* Procurement – undertaking procurement or supporting the procurement team in evaluating and appointing contractors.
* Contract Administration – administer various contract types, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions. Manage contract change reviewing validity, quotations and ensuring timely submissions and agreement. Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain accurate and comprehensive project records.
* Risk and Value Management – identify, analyse, and mitigate commercial risks. Assist in value engineering to optimise project performance.
* Support and manage junior staff in the delivery of quantity surveying services.
About You
* BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar
* Ideally a Chartered member of the RICS
* Conversant in pre and post contract quantity surveying duties
* JCT, NEC, contract experience
* Understanding of methods of measurement (NRM)

Security clearance
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of five years or longer.
