Solar Electrician – Overview Low Carbon Recruitment are working with a well-established and growing renewable energy installer based in Cornwall who are looking for a qualified and experienced Solar Electrician to join their growing team. Operating for over 8 years, the business is a fully MCS-accredited installer delivering high-quality renewable energy systems across the Southwest. Projects include a mix of large domestic properties and commercial installations. Alongside solar PV, the company also installs battery storage systems, EV chargers, air source and ground source heat pumps, giving engineers the opportunity to work with a broad range of renewable technologies. All materials are delivered directly to site, ensuring installations run smoothly and efficiently. The Role You will be responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of solar PV systems, ensuring all electrical works are completed to the highest standard while delivering excellent customer service on site. Responsibilities * Install, test and commission solar PV systems on domestic and commercial properties * Install and connect inverters, battery storage systems and associated AC/DC cabling * Carry out fault finding, maintenance and remedial works on existing PV systems * Complete electrical testing, inspection and certification in line with BS 7671 and MCS standards * Ensure compliance with G98/G99 regulations and site health & safety requirements * Diagnose electrical faults and carry out repairs efficiently and safely * Provide a professional, customer-focused service and explain system operation to clients when required Requirements * Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations * ECS or CSCS card * Previous experience installing solar PV systems * Experience working on domestic and/or commercial sites * Strong customer service skills * Full, clean UK driving licence * Battery storage installation experience * EV charger installation experience * Testing & Inspection qualification Salary & Benefits * £37,000 – £42,000 basic salary (depending on experience) * Company van & fuel card * Overtime available * Private healthcare * 30 days holiday (including bank holidays) * Additional holiday day after 3 years’ service * Pension scheme * Uniform & PPE provided * Use of company tools * Ongoing training and progression with opportunities to gain further qualifications
