We are recruiting for a Research Nurse who will share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. You will be part of the Research Team delivering new and innovative treatments to patients at the Trust. You will work closely with the team led by the senior research nurse as well as the multi-disciplinary team. At the heart of everything we do are our core values: Include, Respect, and Improve.
Main duties and responsibilities
* Work with clinicians and other specialists to recruit patients to clinical trials and other NIHR research studies.
* Coordinate and manage clinical research projects, collaborating with key personnel throughout the network to ensure continued care and support for patients involved in clinical trials.
* Take responsibility for the safe administration of experimental drugs and for monitoring expected and unexpected side effects of drugs and other treatment modalities.
* Enable patients to make informed choices concerning their involvement in clinical trials by providing advice, information and acting as the patient’s advocate.

* Essential: Registered Nurse
* Postgraduate qualification/courses or equivalent experience
* Evidence of CPD and maintenance of PDP
* Willingness to undertake training as appropriate for the role
Previous Experience
* Essential: Experience of working with patients and families within relevant clinical areas
Desirable
* Experience of teaching and mentoring
Skills
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work cross boundaries integrating with multidisciplinary staff
* Ability to make clinical judgments regarding patient needs where appropriate
* Computer literate with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel)
Knowledge
* Essential: Awareness of GCP (Good Clinical Practice)
