Role:
Finance Manager / Management Accountant
Salary: Up to £40,000
Location: Barnsley
Hours: Monday – Friday
Our client is looking for a Finance Manager/Management Accountant who will be responsible for supporting the Managing Director in respect of preparation, collation and reporting of P&L and balance sheet monthly results. You will also be responsible for ad-hoc data analysis and reporting on an ongoing basis to improve management information and share across the business.

Duties:
5. Management Accounts
6. Supporting the Annual Budgeting and Forecasting for the business
7. VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax and Audit
8. Financial reporting and analysis
9. Accurate and timely production of monthly management accounts
10. Timely returns to HMRC on VAT, PAYE, Corporation tax and any other requirements
11. Monthly production of management accounts including variance analysis
12. Monthly production of balance sheet reconciliations including variance analysis
13. Weekly Cashflow reporting.
14. Foreign currency trades
15. Support Forecasting & Budgeting process
16. Ensuring finance related processes are recorded and kept up to date
17. Management and development of Accounts Assistant
18. Compliant HMRC returns and audit process
19. VAT returns including Irish VAT
20. Analysis required to support the business including supplier analysis and commercials to ensure efficiencies within the business.
21. Review of monthly and bi-weekly payroll prepared by payroll administrator.
22. Management of AR and AP process including approval of payments and escalation of customers.
23. Credit checking any new customers.
24. Management of credit insurers including bi-weekly updates to the insurance portal
Successful candidate: –
25. ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified, or QBE with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar finance role.
26. In-depth knowledge of UK accounting standards and HMRC compliance regulations.
27. Proficient in Excel with hands-on experience using accounting systems such as Sage.
28. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with non-finance teams.
29. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills.
30. Previous payroll experience (desirable).
31. Experience with stocking (desirable).
32. Understanding of import/export processes and international trade finance (desirable).
