Job description
The Trainee Skilled Machine Operator will learn to operate production machinery safely and efficiently, supporting the team in delivering high-quality products. This role is designed for individuals wanting to develop technical skills and gain experience in machine operation within a food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the operation of machinery under supervision, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
* Learn to identify and report machine faults, escalating issues to experienced operators or supervisors.
* Support cleaning and basic maintenance tasks as part of training.
* Work towards meeting production targets with guidance from senior team members.
* Monitor equipment output and report any irregularities promptly.
* Participate in safety checks and understand health and safety requirements.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the work area.
* Report any non-conformances immediately to management.
* Engage in training sessions and demonstrate progress in machine operation skills.
* Commit to Health & Safety practices, including wearing PPE and following company standards.
* Work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and productive environment.
* Accurately record downtime and raw material usage under supervision.
* Be prepared for physically demanding tasks, including occasional lifting of loads up to 25kg.
* Comply with all company rules, policies, and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
* Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (training provided).
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to work in physically demanding environments.
Desirable Skills
* No prior experience required but previous factory or production experience is an advantage.

Location: 40 Corrigan Hill Road, Dungannon, BT71 6SL The hourly rate for this role is £14.89. In addition, night shift workers are entitled to a £2 per hour time and attendance bonus. Flexible to train on other shift patterns.
