Learning and Development Partner:
Job Purpose:
The Learning and Development Partner plays a key role in supporting the growth and capability of our workforce by coordinating and delivering effective training programs. This role ensures that all training activities align with business needs, regulatory requirements, and quality standards within a manufacturing environment.
Due to recent rapid growth, and acquisition by a new company, systems and processes need to be reviewed and developed to evolve as we move through this transition phase. This role will play a pivotal role in developing the systems and processes for our largest shipyard in Belfast.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Training Coordination:
* Schedule and coordinate internal and external training sessions.
* Manage training calendars and ensure timely communication with participants and trainers.
* Book venues, equipment, and materials required for training delivery.
Internal Trainer Management:
* Liaise with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) to schedule and support training delivery.
* Validate and review course content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with operational goals.
* Monitor and evaluate trainer performance and training effectiveness.
Training Needs Analysis (TNA):
* Collaborate with department managers to identify skills gaps and training needs.
* Support the development and implementation of annual training plans based on TNA outcomes.
Learning Catalogue Management:
* Maintain and update the internal learning catalogue, ensuring a diverse and relevant offering.
* Promote available learning opportunities across the organization.
External Provider Engagement:
* Work with procurement to source, evaluate, and onboard external training providers.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards.
Training Administration:
* Critical role within the project team set up to review current systems and processes and develop and implement a new LMS.
* Maintain accurate training records and documentation in the Learning Management System (LMS) or equivalent.
* Track attendance, completion rates, and feedback for all training sessions.
* Prepare reports and metrics for management review.
Training Delivery:
* Deliver onboarding and compliance training sessions as required.
* Facilitate soft skills and operational training where appropriate
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Experience in a similar role, preferably in maritime or manufacturing industries.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Education and Experience:
* Proven experience in a Learning & Development role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
* Strong organizational and administrative skills.
* Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training evaluation methods.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
* CIPD qualification or equivalent (desirable).
* Teaching or facilitation qualification (desirable).
Working Environment:
* Standard Office Environment.
* May be required to travel and/or take overnight trips.
* Hours worked may exceed regular schedule, hybrid and flexible working requests will be considered.
Physical Effort:
* Little chance of injury.
* Duties may involve sitting, standing, keyboarding, and delivering training sessions with frequent flexible breaks.
