Role Description
Gardner Champion Solicitors is seeking a Head of Residential Conveyancing for a full-time, on-site position based in Dewsbury (West Yorkshire). The responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to managing and overseeing the residential conveyancing department, handling a varied caseload of property transactions, supervising and mentoring a team of conveyancers/Fee Earners, ensuring compliance with legal procedures, and maintaining high standards of client service. The role also involves working closely with clients to provide expert advice and ensure smooth property transactions and reporting directly to the management team.
Qualifications
* Proven track record in handling all aspects of residential conveyancing and property transactions, with a minimum of 8 years' PQE and current CQS accreditation.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a conveyancing departments, delivering training, mentorship, and ongoing support to Conveyancers/ Fee earners and staff.
* In-depth knowledge of conveyancing regulations and compliance frameworks, (Lexcel and CQS) standards; responsible for overseeing file progression, risk mitigation, and adherence to AML, SRA, and GDPR requirements.
* Skilled in driving quality, consistency, and service delivery through efficient use of case management systems.
* Exceptional organisational, problem-solving, and time-management capabilities, underpinned by exemplary client service and a proven history of fostering strong client relationships.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to engage effectively with clients and coordinate team activities.
* Qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer (CLC), Solicitor, or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx), with proficiency in conveyancing software.
* Full-time office-based role in our Dewsbury office.
* Experience in business development, departmental performance enhancement, process improvement, firm growth initiatives, and managing the complaints process.
