Are you looking to support the next generation? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a supportive and welcoming secondary school in Horsham. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, ideal for someone passionate about education and making a positive impact on young people’s lives. About the Role As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during teacher absences. You will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure students remain engaged, supported, and safe throughout the school day. Key Responsibilities Supervising whole classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher Delivering pre-set lesson plans and ensuring students stay on task Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies Providing guidance and support to students to help them achieve learning objectives Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour Contributing positively to the school’s supportive and inclusive environment The Ideal Candidate Has experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable but not essential) Is confident, adaptable, and able to manage a classroom effectively Has strong communication and organisational skills Is reliable and committed to supporting student learning Safeguarding Requirement Must have a DBS on the Update Service or be willing and prepared to obtain one prior to starting the role What the School Offers A friendly, supportive, and collaborative school environment Opportunities to gain valuable experience within secondary education A rewarding role supporting students and staff alike If you are passionate about education and want to make a real difference in a Horsham secondary school, we would love to hear from you.
