Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef/Cook to join our culinary team at Orchard Court Care Home. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a dynamic environment, contributing to the overall dining experience of our guests.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook a diverse range of meals according to recipes and quality standards
* Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with food safety regulations
* Monitor ingredient stock levels and assist with inventory management
* Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures diligently
* Assist with meal plating and presentation to ensure visual appeal
* Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
* Serve dishes efficiently and courteously to guests when required
Qualifications
* Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, ideally within a care home or catering environment
* Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Previous experience in meal preparation, food safety, and serving is desirable
* Relevant kitchen or culinary qualifications are advantageous but not essential for motivated candidates
Job Description:
A job vacancy has come available for a cook/chef position within our family run Residential Care Home.
Working hours are between 7:00-15:00, rota is in situ and every other weekend would be required.
