We are now seeking a Business Development Manager to join our expanding operations and play a key role in driving growth through strategic client acquisition, business relationship management, and partnership development.
Position Overview The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing and managing client relationships, and driving revenue growth across Hartline Limiteds service portfolio. This is a pivotal role aimed at expanding the companys client base, enhancing its market presence, and ensuring long-term sustainable growth within the IT and consultancy sectors.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior management to develop and implement growth strategies, oversee client proposals, negotiate contracts, and coordinate with technical teams to ensure successful delivery of client solutions. The role demands a combination of strategic thinking, commercial awareness, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning and Market Development
Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activity, and new business opportunities within the IT consultancy and services sectors.
Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies that align with Hartline Limiteds growth objectives.
Identify and pursue new markets and potential client sectors across both public and private industries.
Client Acquisition and Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring consistent communication and support.
Manage the end-to-end business development lifecyclefrom lead generation and qualification through to proposal presentation, negotiation, and contract closure.
Coordinate with internal departments to ensure client requirements are understood, projects are delivered effectively, and expectations are exceeded.
Sales Strategy and Performance Management
Develop sales forecasts, budgets, and revenue targets in collaboration with the management team.
Monitor and report on business performance metrics, providing detailed progress reports and recommendations for improvement.
Drive business expansion through partnership development, networking, and client engagement events.
Marketing and Brand Development
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies, campaigns, and digital content that support business growth objectives.
Represent Hartline Limited at business exhibitions, networking events, and industry conferences to enhance brand visibility and build strategic connections.
Contract Negotiation and Compliance
Prepare high-quality proposals, tender submissions, and business presentations to secure new contracts.
Negotiate terms of business and ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and financial requirements.
Maintain detailed records of all business activities, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
Cross-Departmental Coordination
Liaise with technical teams, project managers, and consultants to align client expectations with deliverable outcomes.
Provide market feedback and customer insights to the management team to support product development and service enhancement.
Support the recruitment, onboarding, and development of junior business development staff as the company grows.
Key Skills and Attributes Strong background in business development, account management, or sales within the IT or consultancy sectors.
Proven ability to develop and execute successful business growth strategies .
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Deep understanding of IT services, consultancy models, and digital transformation processes .
Strong commercial acumen, analytical ability, and problem-solving mindset.
Ability to build and maintain long-term professional relationships.
High level of self-motivation, initiative, and organisational skill.
Familiarity with CRM systems, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Education and Experience Requirements Bachelors degree (or equivalent qualification) in Business Management, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 35 years proven experience in a business development or client-facing commercial role, preferably within the IT or digital consultancy industry.
Experience working with SME and enterprise clients in developing technology-led business solutions.
Demonstrated ability to meet revenue targets and contribute to strategic planning processes.
